over the weekend, wasatch lawn mortuary put luminaries all throughout their cemetery in memory of those who have passed away. going along with that, they had a tree in the mortuary where you could hang an ornament in memory of a loved one. i'm so glad we went-the luminaries were really lovely (and of course, my photos didn't turn out because they were taken at night) and it was peaceful to drive through, listening to quiet christmas music and thinking about my little one.
we went to mortuary next to hang up our caroline ornament. (above-wins hanging the ornament with a little help)

and here she is. i thought a little girl was the perfect thing to leave for caroline. i hope it made her happy. i bought two of the same ornament so that we could leave one and take the other home for our christmas tree. even doing that, i was still sort of sad to leave this one behind-it's like having to part with anything that has any sort of connection with her is like i'm losing her all over again.
the boys in front of the tree.
they were handing out cookies and hot chocolate-wins was all over that.
for some reason, i look like i have butt-chin in this picture. apparently, my mole was really noticeable that night. whatevs.

after we got home, we decided it was the perfect night to light our first real fire in our fireplace. yay! it was actually pretty fun and felt like we were sort of christening the house or something. we used a duraflame log from the grocery store and it wasn't the hugest fire which, of course, made jere think it was wussy and that we should have used "real wood". but i was perfectly content with our little fire.

i just think it made everything so cozy.

merry christmas, my little caroline.
